Q:-1. How Can I to book this tour?


Please choose any of the mentioned tour packages from our website and send us a query with your requirements. Our tour operation team will send all details and tour itinerary with special rates and will help you out to plan your dream trip according to your budget and convenience.

Tour arrangements will be confirmed on receipt of 50% advance payment or as per the Agreement and balance payment to be paid 01 month prior to travel date or as per the agreement. We need Passport & VISA copies to check name spellings for domestic air/train bookings and our records.

 

Q:-2. What I can bring for India trip?


  • Before packing you bag you need to check climate/temperature of particular place as it would be easy to choose clothing according to weather.  Also check clothing style as The Indian subcontinent is conservative and Visitors should respect local codes of dress and behavior, especially women should avoid wearing shorts, mini-skirts and bare backed dresses. It is better to wear long pants or skirts to the ankles or one can try Indian outfits like Punjabi outfits or Saris.
  • Keep good walking shoes with grip to visit all monuments & trekking, slippers & sandals, Sun Glasses & hat etc. during rainy season keep rain suit, Umbrella etc.
  • It is advisable to carry prescriptions of the medicines and also preferably carry a letter from your physician to avoid any inconvenience during the trip.
  • Please carry travel insurance from your country as we do not provide any insurance.
  • Carry valid Passport & VISA as Visa is required to visit India and also apply for multiple Visa, if you would be visiting Bhutan, Sri Lanka or Nepal with India.

 

Q:-3. What would be the temperature in India during my trip?


North India is very cold from mid October to mid March and hot & humid from April to June, while July to September would be rainy season. However climate in Southern part of India is hot and humid round the year and it is advisable to wear light cotton clothes throughout the year. Temperatures in South India range from the 50s to the 90s Fahrenheit. But in North India, prepare for hot, sunny days and cool nights. Temperatures in North India range from the 30s to the high 80s Fahrenheit. Be prepared for cooler weather in higher altitude. In winter during the days the temperature is rather warm, however, at night it can get cold. Therefore, both warm and cold weather clothing is required. This is likewise for the Himalayan foothills, even though it is cold there, while hiking you will get hot and sweaty.

 

Q:-4. What are the Passport & Visa formalities for India trip?


It is necessary to have a valid passport with a valid Indian VISA. Incomplete documentation or visas will result in the airline and airport authorities refusing permission to enter the country. Ashoka India Tours will not arrange any visa and will not be held liable for any irregularities caused due to improper documentation or visas. Passport and visa must be obtained in advance. Each participant is responsible for determining specific passport and visa requirements in the participant's country of origin and for obtaining the necessary documents prior to departure.

Please note that multiple visa is required in case you are visiting Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka or any other nearby Country with India and reentering India within 90 days. With single entry visa you will not allowed to re-enter in India before 90 days.

 

Q:-5. What are the baggage restrictions for domestic airlines?


Please note that domestic Indian airlines have a baggage restriction and allow only 15 kilos for check-in baggage and 5 kilos for hand baggage. All check-in baggage must be locked, as airlines will not be responsible for loss of any item in unlocked bags. Please note that in remote areas of the Himalayas luggage may be carried on tarpaulin-covered roof racks or packed on ponies. Weather and loading and unloading can cause more than usual wear and tear to luggage in India. Accordingly, luggage should be capable of withstanding rain and rugged treatment. Ashoka India Tours will not be responsible or liable for any lost or damaged baggage or personal effects.

 

Q:-6. Is Company providing any travel insurance?


Our Company (Ashoka India Tours) carries no insurance whatsoever for the Tour participants. So all participants in the Tour are advised to get travel, medical, accident, cancellation, and baggage loss insurance independently.

 

Q:-7. What are the reservation restrictions?


Any prospective participant with a disability, pre-existing medical condition, or medical history requiring special attention or treatment should advise the Ashoka India Tours at time of booking the reservation and are advised to consult with a medical specialist prior to reserving space in the Tour. People who are unable to travel alone or who would require special assistance or handling must be accompanied by a companion who will provide the required assistance. Ashoka India Tours assumes no responsibility for any cases such as these. Any assistance can be given upon prior request and extra charges for lodging, boarding, food etc will be charged as per the tour agreement.

 

Q:-8. What are the tour conditions?


  • Extra bed charges (mentioned in rate column) are exclusive of other services such as meals, guides or any other activities.
  • Some hotels may provide roll over beds/mattresses as extra bed in the room.
  • Seats will be provided in coach basis in group tours. Otherwise specified in the itinerary.
  • We shall not responsible for any additional expenses incurred due to sudden sickness, weather conditions, war & strikes, quarantine or other causes or acts of God or acts beyond their control during the tour and no refund will be given in such conditions.
  • We shall not be responsible for any delays & alterations in the programme or expenses incurred - directly or indirectly - due to natural hazards, flight cancellations, accident, breakdown of machinery or equipments, breakdown of transport, weather, sickness, landslides, political closures or any untoward incidents.
  • We shall not be responsible for any loss, injury or damage to person, property, or otherwise in connection with any accommodation, transportation or other services, resulting - directly or indirectly - from any act of GOD, dangers, fire, accident, breakdown in machinery or equipment, breakdown of transport, wars, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, pilferages, epidemics, medical or custom department regulations, defaults, or any other causes beyond our control.
  • We do not have any insurance policy covering the expenses for accident, sickness, loss due to theft, or any other reasons. Visitors are advised to seek such insurance arrangements in their home country. All baggage & personal property/s at all times are at the client's risk.
  • We are not holding any confirmed hotel/air or train reservations or service confirmation in advance. The same is subject to availability at the time of booking and in case of non availability of same hotels/flights/trains similar hotels/flights/trains will be provided.
  • Surcharges may be applicable over and above the holiday price during fairs & festival period. The same will be advised at the time of booking or prior to confirmations.

 

Q:-9. Are there any special remarks?


  • Hotel check-in/Check-out timing would be 12:00/11:00 hrs.
  • Rates are subject to change without prior notice.
  • Promotional rates are not valid during festival & fairs.
  • Non Availability of mentioned hotels will be met by similar category hotels.
  • Even though on the Tour the participants will often stay in first-class hotels or five-star hotels, these hotels may not be as modern or luxurious as compare to hotels in the Western Countries.
  • Star category of Indian Heritage hotels can be judged according to luxury, amenities & services.
  • All itineraries are sample itineraries, given to you to get a general idea of the likely trip schedule. Other factors such as weather, road conditions, the physical ability of the participants etc. may dictate itinerary changes either before the tour or while on the trail. We reserve the right to change any schedule in the interest of the trip participants' safety, comfort & general well being.
  • All distance & timings may vary due to uncertain strikes, war or acts beyond their control and we reserve the right to change the route according to situation.
  • All mentioned rates/ quotation is valid within the mentioned period which will be specified in the itineraries and any increase in government imposed taxes or fuel charges would attract extra charges.

 

Q:-10. What is cancellation policy?


  • 01 month prior to travel date 50 percent cancellation charges of total tour cost.
  • 02 weeks prior to travel date 75 percent cancellation charges of total tour cost.
  • Less than 02 weeks prior to travel date no refund will be given.
  • In case of no show 100 percent of Holiday package cost.

 

Q:-11. What is child policy?


  • Child below 5 years is complimentary (land arrangements only).
  • All hotels reserve the rights to charge the amount of extra bed & meals in case they find child's age over 5 years.
  • Child below 2 years of age will be considered as infant and some part of amount will be charged for air travel but full air fare will be charged for child above 2 years of age.
